9 months

Practicing for when he turns 1!

Casey James is 9 months old. Holy moly, that 1st birthday is right around the corner!

Pictures are getting harder and harder to take.  He's totally mobile now and not interested in being still any longer than he has to.

He is full out army crawling EVERYWHERE (as Chloe would say) now.  A few times a day, he will get up on his hands and knees and move a little bit, but then he goes right back down to crawling with his elbows and tummy on the ground.  He's very efficient... a quick little bugger.  We've had to evoke all kinds of crazy things to keep him quarantined, which he hates.

He is working on waving, but doesn't quite get it very often.

He likes to dance, when I sing, "Dance, dance, dance.  Casey likes to dance."  Super cute... one shoulder bop-type dancing.

He's sitting great, but prefers to be crawling around.

He loves splashing in wading pools or at the water table.

He communicates with us with "raspberries" and "ah-type screaming."  He'll go back and forth mimicking with you.

He's pretty much still sleeping the same as last month.  About 8:30 pm-6:30 am with a morning nap and afternoon nap.  (The last 3 nights, he's gone down fine and then woke up about an hour after falling asleep crying.  Any ideas?)  He takes 4 bottles and alternates them with his meals, which he has 3 times a day.  He really, really, really likes almost any food, especially banana yogurt.  He also really likes his "dinner-type" meals... Chicken and Stars, Vegetable Beef Pilaf, Spaghetti and Cheese... those meals in a jar. He's tried more finger foods like Cheerios, cheese, green beans, apples, and sweet potato fries.  He pretty much tries something new every day.  He REALLY likes his puffs and his big sister does a great job feeding them to him (and sneaking some)!

He's got 6 teeth and has been pretty fussy so we're wondering if there are more coming.

Still loves his Jumperoo... he's gotta be getting to big soon.  Someday it might flip on us.  I hope he walks before he outgrows it or we're going to have to figure out another way for this child to get his "exercise" for the day.  Otherwise he'll be crabby!

He weighs about 24 lbs  and is wearing 18 month and some 24 month clothes.  I think his growing has slowed a teeny bit.  We will give you official updates after the doctor's appointment on Tuesday.

Happy 9 months, bud bud.  We're having such a fun summer with you, little guy!

Spring in Merrill

Chloe here. We are actually up north at Nana and Grandpa's right now, but these pictures are from our last visit back in May.

We had some early corn on the cob.
Yummy!
Casey got a sink bath.
Look at that happy boy with all of his teeth!

Nothing like eating some 1970s Tupperware :)
Delish!
Me and George ran around outside with Nana.

While Casey stayed in...
.. and played ball with Granpda.
I'm getting so good at riding my trike I can do it with my eyes closed.

Go Speed Racer... look at those pigtails!

Nana helped me put George in back.

Thanks for such a fun visit, Nana and Grandpa... we love you!

My Crazies and Cuties

Can you tell which one the crazy is and which ones the cuties are?  (Ok, maybe the crazy is cute sometimes too :)

Memorial Day

Chloe here. We had lots of fun on Memorial Day. It was in the high 80s, like it seems to be every Memorial Day, but we still enjoyed a parade and some BBQing.

It was Casey's 1st Elm Grove Memorial Day parade... check out those shades!

I had some shades of my own as well.

We went with the Marinkovichs, Aiellos and Golembiewskis.  There were lots of kids!

Casey got really hot, really fast.  I think he has Mommy's genes.

I had some cute, festive pigtails.

And some cute, festive earmuffs to block the loud noises.

I was happy that they worked!  (And yes, I am crazy for wearing earmuffs in 89 degree weather.)

First we saw some fighter planes do a flyover.

Gabriella thought it was so cool she stopped eating her grapes.

Before the actual parade started we took a walk.  (From left... Aubrey, Gabriella, Ashlyn and me)

I led the troops back.

Me and Ash got ready to catch some candy!

While Casey waved hello to the people passing by...
...rehydrated...
...and ate a flag?

Finally it was ready to start... I was all set.

The planes did another flyover.

Casey and Daddy got excited.

And here we go!  Papa helped block out the loud noises.

We saw cool stuff. A Jeep like Mommy used to have.

The racing sausages... go Polish!

A little train.
I collected quite a bit of candy... Tootsie Rolls are my favorite!

Me and Mommy spent some quality time together.

Casey got worn out and snuggled with Grammie away from the chaos.

One of the groups threw popsicle.  It was super warm so I used them to cool down.

 And it worked!

Gabriella got really into the parade.

But Grandma Chris made sure she didn't go too far.

We even got to see Mommy's school's marching band.

I was wiped out so I rode in the wagon when the parade was done.

And Casey conked out on Grammie's shoulder.

 Sleepy guy.

After naps, we went to Grammie and Grandpa's for a BBQ.  Casey got this cool Radio Flyer rocket from Aunt Liz and Uncle Pete.

This is how he decided to ride it.  Silly boy!
