More Wedding Pictures

Ok, ok I know I've been neglecting the blog this week. It feels like we haven't had a free night where I can focus on it, but we've had LOTS of fun times with friends... Brewer games, dinners, high school softball games, etc.

Megan and Morgan's Wedding

Chloe here. I know this is technically my blog, but my Auntie Megan and Uncle Morgan made it official yesterday, and I would like to share with you my perspective of the wedding.

This is my absolute favorite picture of the WHOLE weekend. The rest of the pictures will be in chronological order, but this one's a preview. I love you, Auntie Megan!


Here are M&M arriving at their rehearsal. The whole event was at the Sharon Lynn Wilson Center for the Arts in Brookfield. That's where I live too!

I also hung out with Grammie Jo. Look at her face as she looks at her youngest daughter. Priceless!


I was doing fine, hanging out and then the bagpipes started and they were LOUD. My friend Ashlynn was dancing, but I covered my ears.

I've been hearing how Auntie Megan is sometimes "Grumpish." I think this is an example? This is her arriving to the salon.

Gettin' down and gettin' funky with my friend Christopher. What a way to end the night. I made it all the way to midnight (!) when the reception ended. Everyone said I am such a party animal. Mommy and Daddy are in BIG trouble when I go to college!

Portrait Innovations

Upon recommendations from many friends, we decided to get Chloe's pictures taken at Portrait Innovations. These were her first in-studio pictures and we had a great experience. Here are just a few of the many shot we got of her... enjoy!

6 Month Stats

We recently took Chloe for her 6 month checkup. She is up to 14 1/2 lbs exactly (if you look close you can see it on the first picture). That's in the 25% percentile, which is better than her last checkup. She is 26 1/4 inches long, which is in the 75% percentile and her head is 42 1/2 cm in circumference which is in the 50% percentile. The doc said that basically her head and height are leveling off while her weight is catching up. The check up was good and normal - which is just fine with us.

6 Months

Chloe is 6 months old today. It's so cliche, but time flies so fast. We can't believe she's half a year old already. Here are the milestones for this month - she grew two teeth... they exploded into her mouth before we could even figure out what happened, she is playing with her super cute toes, she figured out how to use her toys on the Jumperoo and other things, she shakes toys like rattles, she mimics the sounds we make and she's ALMOST rolling over still. Not quite yet, but we practice every day. Daddy is currently trying to teach her how to give a high five (I'm not sure if it's working). She started rice cereal about a month ago and after a rough time now eats it like a champ. She also started oatmeal yesterday. Later this week we're going to try veggies and Grammie Jo has helped us make a good stock of homemade frozen baby food.

We're not sure how much she weighs or her other stats, because we go to the doctor later today. We will post that when we find out. She also gets more shots today. Sad :(

Mother's Day in Madison

Chloe here. My daddy and I had the idea to whisk Mommy away to Madison for Mother's Day. Mommy and Daddy are always telling me how much they love it there and how I wouldn't exist if they hadn't met there. So I thought it was time to go visit Mad-town.

We first stopped off at our friends house, the Oeths. We got a fetching family photo there.


They just had a new baby named Kaleb and I got to take a picture with him and his big sister Adeline.


Then we tried to go to lunch at JT Whitney's (for those of you in the know) because Mommy wanted fried pickles, but it was closed down for good. Bummer. I thought fried pickles sounded yucky anyway. Instead we went to Pasqual's Salsaria on Monroe street. My Mommy and Daddy had some yummy looking Mexican food there.


Then we went to the UW-Arboretum. We were going to take a hike, but everyone was too full and we were running late. But it worked out well because their flowering tree garden was in full bloom! It was so pretty. Here I am smelling the lilacs. Don't you agree that it's so hard to smell something and not try to eat it?



It was fun to smell the pretty flowers.

Then Daddy made me laugh and I got to fly while Mommy got some really pretty pictures with her new camera.

Finally, we were ready to go and Daddy reminded Mommy that she should visit her "brick." This was a brick that Mommy bought for her beloved roomates when they graduated from college (8 years ago!). I got to take my picture by it! This ones for you, Sarah, Jennie and Kristin! I can't wait to be a Badger like you girls :)

Then we went back to Monroe Street for custard at Michael's. Mommy lucked out because they were giving away free hot fudge sundaes for mothers. I really wanted one but she said I had to wait.


Then we drove home and got a great surprise. Nanna Donna and Grandpa Simek were passing through the area. I got to see them and wish her a Happy Mother's Day. That made me happy.



We ended the day by stopping for dinner at G&G Shemanske's. It was very fun. I got a bit irritable after the long day, but as you can see, eventually I was all smiles. I even got to try oatmeal. I will post about this another day as it has taken me 38 minutes to write this (that's 5 1/2 years in baby time). I should really learn how to type with more than two fingers.
