4 years. 48 months. Chloe Jo is 4 years old!
She
weighs 33.4 lbs (50th percentile) and is 40 inches tall (50th percentile). So she's completely average for physical stats. This baffles me a bit though... I can tell you that we had to go pants shopping last Sunday. Her 3T pants are way to short and the few 4T that we have are falling off of her. So we bought some with cinches are some skinny jeans in 4T and she's good to go. She is also wearing 4T in shirts, for the most part. She is wearing a size 9
shoe, but moving on to a 10 in some brands.
She still takes a nap on most days (crossing
fingers) and sleeps pretty well at night in her big girl bed. If you didn't know, she shares a room with Casey. Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't. For example, she napped the other day in our bed because they both had trouble settling down. Sometimes they just get each other riled up :) She is
allowed 5 books at night. Sometimes she uses them and sometimes she doesn't. She is totally potty trained, with the exception of naptime and bedtime.
Her behavior fluctuates from day to day, as does you're everyone's I'm sure, but in general she follows the saying that "When she's good, she's very good and when she's bad, she's awful." I'm sure Dan would have many more details on that, as he spends his every waking hour with her :) She had made a promise this summer to be good when she turns four and overall has been living up to it. She also didn't want to turn four as a result of her promise. Now she seems ok with it.
She talks and talks and talks with us understanding almost all of what she says... her vocabulary is rather amazing, if I do say so myself. Some famous Chloe catch phrases:
- "I wanna tell you something." (This one usually comes out when the 'something' is not what we want her to do at the time.)
- "Can I watch a show?"
- "Can I play on the iPad?"
- "When's Grammie going to be here?"
- "Casey... no!" (Her brother often gets in her way, knocks down her tower, takes her toys, etc. Yes, we realize this is only the beginning of that kind of thing.)
She still makes her stuffed animals talk in a very, very high
pitched, so high only dogs and babies can hear it (not really), voice.
So if you ever see her and she greets you with this voice, it's not
Chloe speaking, it's one of her friends. She also extends this and sets up elaborate scenes with Little People/LEGOS/Disney figurines and has then talk to each other.
Her favorite friends/people (according to her) include:
- Spunky
- Chuckie
- Casey
- Conner and Aidan (yes, they always come together)
- Reece
- Grammie
- Nana
Things that Chloe loves and plays with or talks about almost daily:
- Her markers, crayons and scissors. She loves to draw and cut things out. Actually, she loves to create any sort of art.
- Her stuffed animals.
- Her books, books and more books. Right now, holiday books are the favorites.
- Jake and Neverland pirates
- LEGOS! (Her absolute favorite are her 'ghost train' LEGOS. Look it up.)
- Play "chase"
- She likes to make families out of her figurines/squinkies/stuffed animals especially having two two of them "getting married." As for herself, she says that she'll marry Casey someday and live with Mommy and Daddy. Hmmm....
She loves holidays.... everything from the music to the decorations to the food. We put out some of our Christmas decorations.
She loves music in general and requests "Chloe music" whenever we're in the car. Favorites include:
- Away in a Manger (plays on her Little People nativity set... this was an impulse decision)
- Twinkle, Twinkle
- We Can Fly (from Peter Pan)
- Songs from Disney movies
- Many, many others
She is a pretty good eater.. She eats a fruit at every meal, and a veggie at
lunch and dinner (usually). Breakfast includes Cheerios and yogurt as
well. According to Chloe, her favorite foods right now are:
- Hot Dogs
- Corn Dogs
- Watermelon
- Corn
- Doughnuts
She also loves cucumbers with salt and asks for it at every meal for her vegetable.
She loves to tattle/help with her brother.
She adores being outside, and recently got a new "big girl bike" to ride around on. She can't wait for it to snow. There were flurries on her birthday and she was thrilled!
Her favorite colors are silver, gold and rainbow.
She is very organized and loves playing/sorting/lining up little things like beads and buttons.
She loves her "classes" and in the past year has gone to toddler school, zoo classes, ice skating, soccer, baseball and basketball. She currently says basketball is her favorite.
She is 100% unique, and one-of-a-kind, our Chloe Jo and we love her to pieces.
Happy 4th Birthday, sweet girl!
