The Takedown

I realize that we should have been stopping this instead of taking pictures, but we were just excited that he was finally fighting back!  Shades of things to come, I'm sure...

Pugfest 2013

Chloe here. The morning after Auntie Megan slept over, we went to Pugfest. Yes, you read that right... PUGfest. A big building. Full of pugs. And pug paraphernalia. And pug lovers. Mommy said it was surreal.

Case and I brought our little stuffed pugs to support the cause.

If you brought your actual dog, you could drop it off in this playpen to play with other pugs.

Casey and I watched the mayhem.

Look at this one.  We weren't sure if it was alive at first.  It was, but it was also elderly.  It's name was Jerry.

And finally, here is the author of the signed book that Auntie bought for me... it was all about a pug named Chloe!

The Christmas Story

Chloe here. The same night that Auntie Megan stayed over, we put on a play of the Christmas Story. Here's how it went:

Just trying out my Mary costume and showing off the star that the shepard's saw.

Mary and Joseph travel to Bethlehem.  Notice that Mary is with child, yet Joseph is still making her walk.  Although he has a cane.

Joseph finds a place for Mary to have the baby.

The birth of Baby Jesus!

Mary kissing her newborn son, lying in a manger, with animals around.

An angel of the Lord appears... see her halo?!

Mary listens to the narrator (Grammie) tell the story....

... with trepidation..
...and great joy!

Just checking up on Baby Jesus.

The cast of the play poses after for the official photo.  Notice that Chuckles is a sheep :)

Making Chocolate Chip Cookies with Auntie Megan

Chloe here. A few weeks ago when Daddy was up north helping Nana and Grandpa, Auntie Megan and I had a sleepover at my house! We had lots of fun, but one of my favorite things that we did was make chocolate chip cookies from her "secret recipe."

I had made a batch of "regular" chocolate chip cookies with Daddy earlier in the week and they just didn't make the cut.

The secret to Auntie's wonderful cookies is...

... that's it's a secret!  You really think I'd give it away?  (For the record, she made me sign a nondisclosure agreement when I put on the apron.)

Cheesing it up.

We're cute.
Licking the beaters... the best part!

Auntie was very impressed with my cookie making skills, as you can see.

Thanks, Auntie, for baking with me!

Stay tuned tomorrow to see... our "Christmas in May" play... starring me, Grandpa, and Auntie Megan!

Memorial Day Parade

Casey here. Just wanted to update you on our Memorial Day. Look... we're only 2 weeks late on this post!

As you know, it was a cold and drizzly day. Grammie and Grandpa set out chairs ahead of time, and then came to our house for our traditional Memorial Day breakfast - red and blue waffles, scrambled eggs and sausage. Yum! I ate like 32 sausages, I think. Grandpa ate 33.

Then it was off to the parade!  We had our rain gear over our patriotic clothing.

Chloe also had some "earmuffs" so the sirens wouldn't bother her.

How do you like my boots-with-shorts look?  I call it "Shoots."

Chlo Jo put on rainboots too, but first we have to show you her cool pedicure... Stars and Stripes!

Here's the gang, all ready to go!

Cheese :)

Oh boy, Chloe hears the parade coming!

The Kellenbergers came with us.  Reece knew the name of every kind of car in the parade.  Impressive.

Here it comes!

Got some parade candy.  Delicious!

Cheese!  (again)

This was Ellis's first parade.  See how he's festive?

Me and my Daddy.
Again, me and my Daddy.

Mommy and the kids.

Me and Mommy.

Cheese!  (see a pattern?)

We were still perky at the end :)  So much fun... can't wait for next year!
