From Daddy's garden, no less!

Eating them!

Hmmm... that one tasted like yucky.

Good job Farmer Daddy!

The iPod Generation

Chloe here. I love to watch the iPod with Daddy. We were watching the movie "Up" in this photo. We started it way back in June and finished it today. I loved it.

Piggy Bank from Great Grandma

Before Chloe was born, Dan's Grandma Simek (Chloe's Great Grandma) gave us this piggy bank and a roll of quarters. Her directions were to let Chloe put the quarters in when she was old enough. Well guess what, Great Grandma Simek, she's old enough!

Notice the cute pajamas from Auntie Jan and Uncle Mike (thanks, guys)! Also notice her sweet kiss to the camera and "bub bye" at the end.

20 months

20 months. That sounds so old, doesn't it? Surely too old to be naming her age by months, dontcha think? Don't worry, we won't be doing 49 month posts someday. We decided when she turns 2 that we will do an update like this every 6 months. But for now, on with the 20 month post - we still have 4 monthly posts to go!

Chloe has finally seemed to catch on to this talking thing a little bit. Some of her new words include airplane, up, elbow, wrist, and hand. She also has superhuman hearing and can pick out a dog barking or an airplane flying overhead from 2 miles away.

She has formed a special bond with 3 friends that we affectionately call "The Chloe Trifecta." The Trifecta includes Spunky, Chuckles and her burp cloth. You can click here to see Chloe with the Trifecta on the 4th of July.

She still enjoys being outside the most and has the mosquito bites to prove it. Her Daddy has recently finished the swing set that we purchased second-hand this spring. She loves her swing and going down the slide.

She can turn the radio on in our bedroom and the living room and dance, dance, dance to her heart's content. She has more rhythm than her mommy and daddy combined.

She thinks she is a big girl and wants to do many things that she is still too little for. She pushes her limits daily, but is also a good listener and does well cleaning up her toys (and the floor too, right Nana?).

She gives the best "big hugs around the neck" and is becoming more affectionate with her mommy, daddy, grandparents and aunties and uncles.

She covers her mouth when she coughs, can blow her nose, and likes to flush the toliet... sometimes with random items in there, unfortunately.

She is becoming more "little girl" and less "baby" every single day. It's rather bittersweet, as I'm sure many of you understand.

Happy 20 months, Chloe Jo!

Dance Moves

I know that one of these videos is dark and the other one is very low quality, but they truly show her love of dancing... and the Black Eyed Peas. She runs right into our room and turns on Dan's clock radio when she wants to break it down. And she gets her groove on.

Splash Pad

Chloe here. A few weeks ago (I know I'm behind on posting) Mommy, Daddy and I went to a splash pad in Germantown. It was hot out so the cool water felt good and they had a playground. Highly recommended for tots my age :)

4th of July preview...

Alternate Title: THE STAGES OF PARTYING

Stage 1: You are in the moment. Dancing with your friends (named Spunky and Chuckles). Drink in hand. Happy. Delirious.

Stage 2: It's all become a bit too much. Jonny doesn't sound like Wayne Newton anymore, more like Wayne Gretzky. You and your friends take a seat and watch the party. You might take your blanky/burp cloth out of your purse for comfort. You set down your drink. Unsure of what's to come next, but content.

Stage 3: The downward spiral comes quickly. You lost your fancy headband somewhere. You fall asleep in someone's driveway. At least your friends crash with you. The party is over. At least for tonight.
