Mother's Day in Madison

Chloe here. My daddy and I had the idea to whisk Mommy away to Madison for Mother's Day. Mommy and Daddy are always telling me how much they love it there and how I wouldn't exist if they hadn't met there. So I thought it was time to go visit Mad-town.

We first stopped off at our friends house, the Oeths. We got a fetching family photo there.

They just had a new baby named Kaleb and I got to take a picture with him and his big sister Adeline.

Then we tried to go to lunch at JT Whitney's (for those of you in the know) because Mommy wanted fried pickles, but it was closed down for good. Bummer. I thought fried pickles sounded yucky anyway. Instead we went to Pasqual's Salsaria on Monroe street. My Mommy and Daddy had some yummy looking Mexican food there.

Then we went to the UW-Arboretum. We were going to take a hike, but everyone was too full and we were running late. But it worked out well because their flowering tree garden was in full bloom! It was so pretty. Here I am smelling the lilacs. Don't you agree that it's so hard to smell something and not try to eat it?

It was fun to smell the pretty flowers.

I got some pictures with Mommy...

...and Daddy...

...and then did some talking.

Then Daddy made me laugh and I got to fly while Mommy got some really pretty pictures with her new camera.

This is a lilac.

A crabapple tree.

A magnolia.

And a beautiful yellow magnolia tree - it was really cool.

Finally, we were ready to go and Daddy reminded Mommy that she should visit her "brick." This was a brick that Mommy bought for her beloved roomates when they graduated from college (8 years ago!). I got to take my picture by it! This ones for you, Sarah, Jennie and Kristin! I can't wait to be a Badger like you girls :)

Then we went back to Monroe Street for custard at Michael's. Mommy lucked out because they were giving away free hot fudge sundaes for mothers. I really wanted one but she said I had to wait.

Then we drove home and got a great surprise. Nanna Donna and Grandpa Simek were passing through the area. I got to see them and wish her a Happy Mother's Day. That made me happy.

We ended the day by stopping for dinner at G&G Shemanske's. It was very fun. I got a bit irritable after the long day, but as you can see, eventually I was all smiles. I even got to try oatmeal. I will post about this another day as it has taken me 38 minutes to write this (that's 5 1/2 years in baby time). I should really learn how to type with more than two fingers.

Hope all of you mommies had a good day. I know my mommy did.

Happy Mother's Day

Chloe says "aaahhhhhhtttttthhhhhhhpppppppphhhhhhhhooooooo" which means "Happy Mother's Day!" (Also, Happy Mother's Day from Kristi and Dan to all of our friends and family that are mommies. Enjoy your day. Especially those moms who are enjoying their first Mother's Day.)

New Camera

Chloe here. Daddy surprised Mommy with a new camera for Mother's Day. It takes nicer pictures than our old one but isn't as indestructible so she has to be more careful. We spent a lot of the afternoon doing things we normally do, but taking pictures of them. Here's how I spent my fabulously gorgeous Friday.

It was really, really nice out so we went outside and I got to lay in the grass and see what that was all about. It felt funny, but I didn't try to eat it as predicted.

Here is another shot with me in the sun instead of the shade. The sun was TOO much for me... I wouldn't even look at the camera.

So we went back to the shade and Daddy took a picture with me.

We went and looked at some of the pretty flowers that Daddy planted that are blooming. I like the grape hyacinths. They are little (like me!) and purple (like me today!).

After all of that time outside, we went inside to catch up some important laying and drooling.

Then I spent some time in the Jumperoo. The camera caught me off guard on this one.

We moved to Mommy and Daddy's bed where we read some Dr. Seuss stories. I like stories.

This gave me some time to play with my toes, which I recently discovered.

After all of those things I took a snoozer during the Brewers game.

Thanks for sharing the day with me! And thanks for the new camera, Daddy. Mommy loves it. Goodnight.

Mommy and Me

Chloe here. These pictures are from the wonderful day that Mommy and me had together on Saturday. We had so much fun. Mommy can't decide which one she likes better, but these are by FAR her favorite pictures EVER with me.

Sunshine Saturday

Chloe here. I don't know where all of my readers live, but I hope that it was as beautiful a day by you as it was by us on Saturday. Mommy and I had a girls day together while Daddy did "man stuff" around the house. We met up with Grammie Jo and Grandpa and decided to take a walk down by the lakefront.

Here are my new sunglasses. I think I look like a movie star.

They even tasted better than they looked... kind of like strawberries!

This is one of my headshots for my modeling career. Thanks for the super cute outfit and hat, Auntie Megan!

We stopped halfway through our walk for me to eat lunch. I got to eat at Lake Park Bistro! My mom said it's pretty expensive, but I'm worth it. I wanted to order Creme Brulee, but got formula instead.

After some shopping we ended the day with lunch at Botanas. I was really wanting some chips and salsa and was sad when mommy wouldn't let me.

Cherry Blossoms

All I wanted were some cute pictures of Chloe smiling and smelling the cherry blossoms. She wasn't having any of it. I wouldn't want to be on her bad side, know what I mean?

Chloe's Evil Twin

This one cracked me up. Same look on her face, but 4 months later. And yes that is the newborn bassinet at the hospital that her nutso parents put her in. Oh Chloe, you're hilarious.

Aubrey Schuett

This is finding you about a week late, but my friend Melissa Schuett had a beautiful baby girl on April 19 named Aubrey Elizabeth. We went to visit them in the hospital - here are some pictures of the precious bundle. Doesn't Chloe look big?

Snoozin' in the Jumperoo

On Sunday she fell asleep in the Jumperoo... while jumping... twice. Priceless.

Grammie Jo's Birthday

We celebrated my mom's birthday on Friday and Saturday. Friday night (remember, it was 80 degrees that day?) we went for a walk and watched the sunset at Lamplighter Park.

It was so pretty. We would love to live in one of the houses that surrounds it some day.

Chloe didn't quite make it.

The next day was mom's real birthday and we dressed Chloe extra cute for the occasion.

Then we sang to her and had some yummy treats.

After she blew out the candles, of course.

She seems to be soooo close. Hopefully it'll be soon!

Some Chloe Sunshine on a Rainy Day

Chloe here. Today is my Grammie Jo's Birthday! I will post pictures later of how we celebrated. But these are from yesterday. It was about 80 degrees and sunny. I like being outside and sitting in my Bumbo while my dad worked on the lawn tractor. My mommy took these pictures just before sunset. She thinks they are the cutest ones we have taken in a long time! (Thanks for the cute hat, Sarah.)

Daddy's Flowers

Hi it's Chloe. I'm back. I just wanted to show you some of Daddy's pretty plants and flowers that are in bloom. He would never post them; he's too modest. The top ones are daffies (I think daffodils are what they're really called.) The middle one is a type of sedum - I think that one looks like it would be yummy to eat. On the bottom are hyacinth. Yay for my daddy's flowers!

Man, that 2nd Tooth Was a Doozy

Just kidding! Well, actually, she did already get her second tooth. Bottom left incisor. But this gruesome scene was not a result of that. This is how Dan found her one morning when he went in to wake her up. (You can really see what a mess she was if you click on the picture and make it larger.) We're not sure what happened, but she was ever so smiley and didn't seem to care. Let's here it for our two-toothed- wonder, Miss Chloe! Next week we're entering her in her first cage match.

3 words...

Teether. Tongue. Drool. And lots of each. Such is the world of a teething baby.

Her First Tooth

I'm trying to get a picture, but she's not cooperating. I know, shocking that she won't let me pry her mouth open and shove a camera in her mouth. But we do have the poorly lit video to share!

Super Sunday

Chloe here. It's been awhile since the monster post. Just wanted to let you know that I am still happy and playing with my toys in my new Bumbo (thanks to Mommy's hairdresser). I'm also still eating rice cereal. That's my story. Have a good week! And enjoy your last day of Spring Break to those who have it.
