16 months

Chloe Jo is 16 months already. We did two photo shoots in coordinating outfits on two different days. That's just how we roll.

Chloe continues to grow up twice as fast as Dan and I want her too. Her babble is a language in and of its own. She has added bird to her vocabulary as she is spending more time with Daddy outside in the warmer weather. She also likes to point them out when she spots them. She has gotten some new "big girl shoes" so she can run around outside with Daddy. She likes digging through the wood chips and playing with sticks. She also took her first bike ride, riding in a trailer, to get an ice cream cone with Daddy and has traveled to the library with Daddy a few times. She has also been to the zoo recently and got her first haircut (post coming soon). Just another sign that is a toddler, not a baby.

Unfortunately, she's been sick quite a bit this past month with a killer cold and 103 degree fever knocking her out on two different occasions. She also seems to be cutting her canines and is putting things in her mouth again.

Her fine motor skills are impressive (says her Grammie) and she really gets into playing, building, stacking, putting things in other things, etc. She can stick her mega-blocks (giant Legos) together by herself. She is beginning to interact with other kids, not just play next to them.

We have given up "the bottle," as you well know and is doing just fine. We read stores before bed and she particularly enjoys The Cat in the Hat, Hand Hand Fingers Thumb, One Fish Two Fish and Hop on Pop. She also has some picture books and can identify lots of things by pointing to them when we ask her to, like baby, flower, fish, frog, peas, banana, shoes and ball, to name a few.

Happy 16 months, Chloe Jo!
