4 months

This big guy is 1/3 year old... or 4 months!  I know we are a week late, but he had RSV last week and it was nasty!  He had a wicked cough and wasn't breathing too well.  It necessitated 2 trips to the doctor early last week.  Then, we took him in last Friday for his well-child checkup and he got his vaccinations.  We're not sure it was because his immune system was weakened or not, but his little body reacted to the shots and he had a 102 degree fever on Friday!  So, he's finally healthy and happy again and we are posting his update.

Casey's new tricks include blowing bubbles and kind of reaching for things.  He doesn't keep his little hands all balled up anymore in fists because he is trying to grab things.  Once he gets something, he will try to bring it to his mouth, but it only sometimes ends up in there.  He also reaches for and pushes away his bottle during feedings.  He tried to sit up on his own and does pretty good.  Maybe this is from all the time he sits in his Bumbo?  :)

He has moved into Chloe's room and they are sharing!  Woo hoo!  While I was terrified of this, it's working out well.  They both seem to sleep well, and she sleeps through most of his fussing.  He sleeps about 9pm-9am with one feeding in the early morning.   We're not complaining :)  He has also finally moved on to normal formula.

His absolute favorite thing to do right now is jump in his jumperoo.  He does this little marching thing where he hops back and forth from one foot to another.  We will post a video soon.  Seriously, he probably does this for at least 2 hours during the day and falls asleep in there at least once or twice a day.

He was baptized last weekend, and we hope to get a post up soon!

At his appointment on Friday, he weighed 17 lbs 11 oz (90th percentile).  He is 27.5 inches (98th percentile) and his head is 43.75 cm (98th percentile).  I was worried that we were feeding him too much and making him squishy, but our pediatrician assured us that you can't make him TALLER, and he is tall and big, not just big.   Our doctor also said that he is the exact size of a completely average 7  month old.  I will tell you that Chloe weighed at much as he does now when she was about 10-11 months.  He is quickly growing out of his 6 month clothes and into the 9 month ones we had to buy today.  At this rate he'll be in Chloe's current size by May :)  We have moved on to Size 3 diapers as well.  Sheesh.

Happy 4 Months, chunky monkey, we love you!
