Name that Photo Contest

Chloe here. Because of the drought in comments lately, I wanted to try a contest. Please think of the most clever, unique or funny caption for the photo below. The winner gets... not sure yet. Maybe lots of veggies from our garden? We'll see... good luck!

Father's Day

Chloe here. My Mommy is in Dallas for her annual convention for school, but I decided to keep blogging and catch you up to speed while she's out of my hair.

Yesterday was Father's Day. I love my Daddy so much and wanted to plan a super fun day for him. We started with breakfast at the diner around the corner. Then we went to Glacier Hills for a hike. This is where Mommy and Daddy got engaged. I got to ride in Daddy's new backpack. Here are some pictures of me before, during and after the hike.

After the hike we went home and not 15 minutes later, Grandpa picked Daddy up to go golfing.

After they golfed and Mommy and I napped, we went to Auntie Megan and Uncle Morgan's for a yummy dinner and some games.

I think my Daddy had a good day. I'm happy cause he deserves it.

Love you Daddy!

Dear Daddy,

One year sure goes by fast, hey? Happy Father's Day, Daddy. And Grandpa Pookie. And Grandpa Simek. And to all the other wonderful Daddies we know.

Love,
Chloe

19 months

Chloe is now 19 months. Closer to two than she is to one. Sheesh.

She continues to do all of those things that a toddler does. Climbs everything. Throws little tantrums. Gives hugs and kisses. Waves bye bye at cars and dogs and sometimes even people. Dances like a banshee. To sum in all up in one word: MISCHIEF.

She is enjoying the warmer weather, for sure. Trips to the park with Daddy and now Mommy are such a treat. She recently acquired a "Cozy Coupe" from Grammie and Grandpa and LOVES to tool around in it. You know, the red car with the yellow roof from when we were kids?

She is started to show her opinions more. If we pick out shoes that she doesn't like, she shakes her head to and runs to get a new pair. Flash-forward to teenage years! We have a box of extra food under a bench that she can reach, and she's been crawling under there to pick out her snack when she's hungry.

She has a dump truck and likes to collect rocks for her truck. Actually, she likes to collect anything. And sort it.

Her favorite new past time is sitting on the bench in front of our window and watching life go by. She could do it for hours. I'm sure you will see pictures posted soon.

She is a whiz at technology and can capably operate the mouse on the computer, as well as more impressively, unlock Daddy's iPod touch, which she likes to watch movies and pictures of herself on. She can also turn on Daddy's clock radio next to his bed when she feels like dancing. Hilarious.

Her hair is now long enough to fit into a ponytail, which Mommy loves and her shoe collection seems to be expanding exponentially.

She is a hurricane of love and laughter and we are SO looking forward to this summer with her. Happy 1 year and 7 months, Chlo!

New Couch

Chloe here. A few weeks ago Mommy and Daddy got a new couch and loveseat for the living room. For those of you that didn't know, the other one was 10ish years old and used to be in Grammie and Grandpa's living room. It was time to get rid of the plaid. I will show you the before and after pictures and then walk you through the day.

The old one. It even looks sad and saggy, right?

The new one. So pretty, I think. Not as comfy to sleep on, says Daddy.

Watching Daddy and Grandpa unload it from the trailer.

Here it comes!

Our new family spot. I foresee lots of bedtime stories being read here.

I used to be able to climb up the old one by myself but this one is too high. Rats!

Hanging with Grandpa on the new couch.

Look at these mugshots!

Ahh... that's better. This is what we got this baby for!
