This is what the garden looked like back in June. I'll try to take another picture soon so that you can see the difference.
Daddy helped me find some of the early peas that were ready. We were supposed to look for shells that looked big and fat.
Then we very carefully open it up...
Pick out those nice, plump peas...
And eat them right in the garden, throwing the shells on the ground. This is one of my favorite things we did ALL summer.
So for some pictures of the veggies. Here's a particularly artistic one that Mommy took of a peapod that was kind of transparent and not quite ready yet.
This giant plant made one little head of broccoli. This it the first time Daddy's tried broccoli and man, oh man was it bitter. If any of you gardeners have some tips for us, they would be much appreciated!
Some yummy lettuce. Black-seeded Simpson on the left and leafy romaine on the right. Yum!
Here's the corn that was already knee high... and it wasn't even 4th of July yet.
Finally, a pretty blossom that would eventually turn into a zucchini.
